What about insurance coverage?
The initial Acupuncture visit lasts between an hour and a half and two hours. It includes history taking, traditional diagnosis and evaluation. Subsequent visits last 45 minutes to an hour. All fees are payable before treatment begins unless other arrangements are made. Fee flexibility is available according to individual financial status.
It is important that I be notified at least 24 hours in advance of any need to change a scheduled appointment; otherwise, the appointment fee will be charged.
A number of insurance policies recognize acupuncture as a covered benefit; some do not. Check with your insurance representative to determine coverage. (If it is covered, a medical doctor's diagnosis can sometimes be required.)
